Update #3

Hello Universe!!! How are you guys going? I know I can’t actually hear what you are saying so I am just assuming that you guys are all egg salad. (Excellent, that’s a little Zach humor for you right there) I would like to start off by saying I am sorry that this is only my 3rd update; I have no legit excuse as to why I haven’t been keeping up regularly. The Internet has not been working since the third week of school so that has a lot to do with it. But the main reason why is that I am quite busy. I have had lots on my mind and plate with school and lectures. I will try to fill you in on what been going on in the world of Zach. So here we go.

There have been lots happening since the last time that you were able to tune into this wonderful blog. We have had wedding, and guest speakers. Tons of lectures, a Muslim concert, gone to the outback, almost got fluided in that one. More lectures and now getting ready for outreach which starts in 2 and a half weeks!!! That is crazy close! Ok for those who don’t know I am going to South Africa for outreach!!! So in 5 weeks I will be going there to Durban and touring around there. And in 2 and a half weeks we are leaving for a 3 week tour around Australia, we were originally going to go to Darwin for three weeks and then south Africa but because of costs we are just touring closer to home. I am really excited for that. We are relying a lot on God for money. The base rules are that the staff on base isn’t allowed to go on outreach if they have a debt at the base. So the 2 staff members that are on the same outreach team as me have about 10 000 dollars of debt plus they need to pay outreach fees. So that is really stressful. Please keep my team and the base in your prayers that the money will come in. Thank you so much for your prayers.

I have been learning a lot since I have been here. The lectures are teaching me so many things and reaffirming that I have heard from church and other teachings. Trust is a huge thing that I have been learning about. Trust for the lord to provide in everything, for him to take care of situations that you have no control over, to provide a situation for you to talk to someone about God, and trust that God will provide finances. Since I have been here my excitement for reading the bible has also gone up. It’s gone from not ever wanting to read it to enjoying my alone time with God. I am also learning different things that the church can to do to increase our outlook on missions. I can’t wait to get back and share with you what I have been learning in lectures and from my own one on one time.

I want to thank all the people that are supporting me and keeping me in your prayers. I could not do this without your support. You guys mean the world to me. I will hopefully be able to send you at least one more update before we leave for Outreach. The weeks that we have left are the Holy Spirit, and relationships. I am really looking forward to those weeks.

Thank you for taking the time to read this rather pointless message. If you made it all the way through good for you, if not I totally understand. I just want to say one more time thank you for being such a great support to me. It really means a lot. My God bless you a thousand fold more then you have blessed me.

Zach

  1. Hi Zach...so good to read about what God is doing in your heart and in your daily life. Trusting God with the little things as well as the Big stuff takes a life time of surrender to Him. I am so glad that you are learning to listen to his voice. "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1 Love and a Big Hug!!! Mom
